Chatange Cattery was registered with CFA in 1989. We are a hobby breeding/show cattery operating in NewHampshire. Our first litter in 1990 produced our first Birman Grand Champion, GC Chatange Nicodemus, seal point male. In 1992-93, we had two litter brothers that acquired Regional Wins in CFA, GC, RW Chatange Olery, DM and GP, RW Chatange Oliver No Twist. With what seemed to be instant success nothing overshadowed the immense love that grew for this wonderful breed. After 18 years that love has not faded. If you are ever fortunate to be owed by a birman you will be totally in love with this breed as well. Our goal is quality not quantity with wonderful outgoing and well socialized personalities. We breed seal. blue, chocolate, lilac, red, cream pointed and in the lynx patterns as well. Occasionally we have kittens and often retired adults available. For more information please visit my page. If you would like to see pictures of our past show cats or past kitten pictures please go to our Photo Gallery.
We have been blessed to have a friendship and business relationship with Charlene May, Ashi Birmans of North Carolina for the past 19 years. Together we decided to create a combined cattery name in CFA in 2005 called "Barefoot" so you will see litters advertised under the Barefoot Cattery name as well as the Chatange Cattery name. Nine years ago, I purchased my first cat from Linda Birkmann of Pussetoe Birmans, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. After merging many of our lines with one another we were able to help each other wtih outcross lines and new colors. Our friendship and working relationship is still strong today. We also work with Susan Gibson, Zanadu Birmans, North Augusta, Ontario, Canada. We have had a working relationship and friendship also for almost 8 years.
Our Boys are the most special as they have such an ability to love you. They love their special times with me during their show careers, love their girls during their breeding careers and make wonderful companions once retired and ready for placement in their new homes. Our Girls make the best moms and enjoy their babies until they choose to wean them. They discipline and teach their kittens how to be comfortable with daily living in a busy and noisy household. Feel free to browse Our Boys pages and/or Our Girls pages. There are many links available that you may find of interest to you.
